Warning About Borrowing

Borrowing money is a serious financial commitment and should be considered carefully.

Before taking out a loan, think about whether the credit is right for your circumstances, whether you can comfortably meet the repayments, and how the loan may affect your broader financial position.

You should only borrow what you need and what you can reasonably afford to repay.

Compare Your Options

Before borrowing, you should consider whether lower-cost credit may be available to you.

Customers with strong credit histories, stable income and a solid repayment record may be eligible for lower interest rate personal loans from major Australian banks or other mainstream lenders.

Equivalent loans from major banks may, at times, be available at materially lower rates than specialist lenders, depending on eligibility criteria and market conditions.

Loans from Thrivest Pty Ltd are designed for customers whose circumstances may differ from those accepted by mainstream lenders. Depending on your circumstances and the product selected, interest rates with us may be higher and may be up to a maximum of 45% per annum, as disclosed in your loan contract.

We encourage all customers to compare lenders, fees, interest rates, features and total repayment amounts before proceeding.

Before You Apply, Consider:

  • whether the loan is for a genuine need

  • whether you can make repayments on time for the full term of the loan

  • whether your income or expenses may change soon

  • whether another lower-cost option may be available

  • how taking on debt may affect your rent, bills, groceries and other living expenses

If You Miss Repayments

Missing repayments or taking on unaffordable debt can lead to:

  • financial stress

  • fees or default charges (where applicable)

  • collection activity

  • damage to your credit history

  • difficulty obtaining finance in future

If You Are Already Under Financial Pressure

If you are already experiencing financial difficulty, borrowing more may not be the best solution.

You may wish to seek assistance from a free independent financial counsellor before taking on further debt.

If You Already Have a Loan

If you are having trouble making repayments on an existing loan, contact your credit provider as early as possible to discuss hardship assistance.
